I am into comics as much as I am in Vivienne Westwood and I love her a lot. So the first thing that comes to mind is Yazawa Ai, my favourite japanese manga author. Her books are about musicians, fashion, art and designers. Well no surprise as she is herself a drop out fashion student. I first discovered her manga NANA, while looking at legendary heart jacket by Vivienne Westwood online. I was really fascinated: the plot, the drawings it all looked so in place and so original: all bout punk musicians, with loads of references to Sex Pistols and Vivienne Westwood pieces of jewelry and clothing in almost every chapter. So I ended up reading it for years, even though it's quite heavy on emotions at times, and now she even dropped it at the most crucial moment.
I'm learning Japanese at university at the moment and I hope to be fluent one day.
ReplyDeleteI really like anime movies, and I want to learn to read japanese well so I can read manga.

I would love to learn japanese or korean as well, and I love anime, maybe slightly less than manga haha. This is a great way of learning a language while reading manga
